programming wrong *.bin file into FPGA

Hi,

generally, when FPGA /flash is programmed via JTAG, if a wrong programming file(meant for other FPGA/flash) is chosen, it shows an error msg similar to, "programming file device and actual device does not match".

But when programmed by *.bin fine, through a processor, is there any way to check that? or how to avoid programming a wrong *.bin file into an FPGA ?

Thanks,

Asan.

Re: programming wrong *.bin file into FPGA

a,

The device may only be programmed by a bit file that matches the device (for example 7k325T).  Any other bitfile will result in DONE not going high (device will not be programmed).
