A question about SDAccel

Hi All,

I learn some information about SDAccel. But still I have some questions.

    (1) The board that SDAccel support must be based on PCIe. Is it right?

    (2) The SDAccel can support C/C++ . That's like VivadoHLS. Does it mean SDAccel use Vivado HLS to transfer C/C++ to HDL?

   (3) Will SDAccel support customer board?

Thanks

Orange

The FPGA Based board needs PCIe to interface with the x86 Based Server. The current list of supported boards are @ http://www.xilinx.com/products/design-tools/sdx/sdaccel.html

    (2) The SDAccel can support C/C++ . That's like VivadoHLS. Does it mean SDAccel use Vivado HLS to transfer C/C++ to HDL?

Yes, it supports HLS C & HLS C++ in addition with the Open CL compiler.

   (3) Will SDAccel support customer board?

Contact your Xilinx representative for more information about adding third party devices in SDAccel.

To access the capabilities of SDAccel, please contact your local sales representative.

SDAccel is OpenCL port to Xilinx FPGA. In OpenCL prog model there should be host that runs main program which calls OpenCL kernels. OpenCL was originally developed for GPU boards that are installed in x86 servers.

I believe that in the future OpenCL programs will be capable of running on SoC, for example Xilinx Zynq chip. In this case ARM core will be host and kernels will be located in FPGA fabric.
