Vivado 2019.1.3 new RTL project

Jump to solution

Hi. This is an undergraduate Computer Engineering student using Vivado for my project.

I installed Vivado 2019.1.3.

I used to be able to make a new RTL project and pick my board from 2018.3.

But for Vivado 2019.1.3, it no longer asks me if I want to make a new RTL project when I try to make a new project from the main menu.

I am fine with learning the C synthesis and solutions and whatnot, but I have a hard time trying to add the board to continue on with my Vivado tutorial(UG871), specifically the Interface labs.

I am using ZedBoard.

If anyone can answer my question, that'd be awesome.

Hi chom3@unlv.nevada.edu

If you have Vivado HLS, you likely have Vivado. When downloading, there's not an option to download them separately.

The 'vivado.bat' file should be present in <download directory>\Xilinx\Vivado\<version>\bin\vivado.bat

For example, if you are using windows and left the download directory default the vivado file would be located at: C:\Xilinx\Vivado\2019.1\bin\vivado.bat.

Cheers

chom3@unlv.nevada.edu Are you opening Vivado, or Vivado HLS? The former is for RTL, the latter is for C synthesis.

chom3@unlv.nevada.edu ,

Please check page 10 of UG910 which has different ways of launching Vivado

I read the pages and I only have HLS Vivado. Should I install a different Vivado program?
