BRAM count more than avaliable

Jump to solution

Hi,

My design utilizes 141.5 BRAM tile in synthesis. But, 140 BRAM tile avaliable in Zynq. After implementation this count dropped to 133 tile. My question is how can vivado reduce this count? With implementation? Can this point cause a future problem?

Hey @berker_atel,

how can vivado reduce this count?

The count could have been reduced for a number of reasons ...

  • Optimization got rid of some unused BRAMs
  • Optimization managed to combine some BRAMs
  • BRAM blocks have been replaced with LUT memory

Can this point cause a future problem?

Not really, as long as all the constraints are in place and the timing is met, the design should work as expected now and in the future.

Hope this helps,

Herbert
