Single project multiple parts

Jump to solution

Hi,

   I am using Vivado 2018.1 currently for a Kintex-7 160T device, and we are trying a 325T part to help us meet timing for the design and I was wondering if it is ok to have multiple synth/impl runs setup in the project where some are setup for the 160T and some are set for the 325T device?

   The only problem I see is when I do a Report IP Status, the IPs show as being setup for a "current part" which may not allow synthesis and implementation for the alternate part.

   Can somebody please let me know if this is indeed supported, or if I need to use separate projects?

   I am using a block design as well.

Thanks.

Tim

@nupurs,

   Actually I wasn't expecting it to work, but my project did implement with separate implementations.   I was expecting the block design blocks to give me issues but they didn't.

Thanks.

@tim_severance

It is possible to have two separate set of runs for two devices in the same project.

In your case, I believe both the parts belong to same device family. Are you facing any error while using the same IP for both the parts?

Thanks,
Nupur
