What dcp has to be used for ECO flow?

Jump to solution

Hi,

is there any difference on the result of the ECO flow if I start from a placed or a routed dcp? What I'm doing is to open the dcp, disconnect some net and connect them to another location, than save the changes (write a new dcp) and perform place, route and write bitstream. I'm wondering if there will be a difference in the result obtained using one or the other dcp. Thanks all.

There will be difference in the placement and routing result between 2 DCP files. (ECO start from place/ start from routed design).

When there is no routing issue or timing violation, both of the generated bitstreams should work properly.
