Get a free Vivado/ISE WebPack license and start using your Xilinx software

WHERE ?? HOW ??

no clue how to get that license file, the installer did NOT take me to the correct location on the web site,

PLEASE help me make the file ??

here is what the installer say :

 

Get a free Vivado/ISE WebPack license and start using your Xilinx software. You will be taken to the Xilinx website where you can generate a license for Vivado/ISE WebPack. Once your license file is generated, the "Manage Xilinx Licenses" tab will open to enable you to configure your system to use the license. For more information on Vivado/ISE WebPack, including supported devices and applications, please visit www.xilinx.com.

Note: WebTalk is always enabled for WebPACK users. WebTalk ignores user and install preference when a bitstream is generated using the WebPACK license. If a design is using a device contained in WebPACK and a WebPACK license is available, the WebPACK license will always be used. To change this, please see Answer Record 34746.

1. Log in - https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/license-form.html

2. Place a request for license.

3. Get .lic file via mail

4. Put the .lic file inside the Vivado installation folder.

5. Launch Vivado and start using it.

Are you trying to use old software (ISE or Vivado before 2015.4) or new-ish software (Vivado 2015.4+ or Vitis)? For the latter, the answer is trivial: do nothing. The installation includes a free WebPack license with precisely zero work required from you.
