How to get an ISE 14.7 license

I do need to use ISE 14.7, how can we obtain a license? Is it free, or do we have to buy a Vivado Node Lock to have access to the license?

Re: How to get an ISE 14.7 license

You used to have to buy Vivado to get ISE (Vivado Design Edition -> ISE Embedded Edition, Vivado System Edition -> ISE System Edition) but it looks like they may have now made ISE Embedded Edition available for everyone:

https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Installation-and-Licensing/ERROR-WEBPACK-OR-ISE-NOT-FOUND/m-p/1073360

which is likely very nice if you are using a larger/non-WebPACK part.

Try that and see if it works for you.

Cheers

Re: How to get an ISE 14.7 license

If you are using the Win10 VM Spartan-6 version of ISE 14.7 - I believe it already comes with the license installed:

see chapter 5 - https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_7/ug1227-spartan6-vm-windows10.pdf

Re: How to get an ISE 14.7 license

Hello @rdionne ,

You can just put the license into any location. Then open Xilinx License Manager, and set XILINXD_LICENSE_FILE to point to the location (i.e. to the folder where you have this/these node-locked licenses stored) and then hit Set.

Once done, you should then see the licensing features listed under the View License Status section. With that, ISE will then know where to look for these licenses.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
Anatoli Curran,
