Legacy Node-locked IP License Setup

Jump to solution
I have an old design (Virtex 4) I'm trying to migrate to a new development machine. Most of the IP cores are licensed locally just fine, but there are 3 IP cores in the XPS design that have node-locked licenses. I've found the license files, so I may be able to turn the old computer into a license server, I'm not sure. I would like to avoid this if possible due to the old development machine being very old with its stability in question.

The old machine is RHEL 4 and the new machine is Windows 10 using ISE 14.7

The IP cores in question are
  • OPB UART 16550 1.00.d
  • OPB IIC 1.02.a
  • APU FPU 3.00.a

How might I regenerate these deprecated licenses for the new machine?

Hi @gallaghers

Login to the Xilinx product licensing page: https://www.xilinx.com/getlicense

1. From the Manage Licenses Tab, select the license file you wish to rehost.
2. Click Modify License.
The Modify License screen displays.
3. Go to System Information.
4. Change or add a new Host ID and/or Host Name by using the drop-down list and text entry
boxes respectively.
5. Click the Next button twice and then click Accept to accept the Affidavit of Destruction.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Ansari Hunen

Hi @gallaghers ,

You may re-genrate any license entitlement up to 3 times to a new host.

Thank you,

Hi @devinl ,

Where might I find the Manage Licenses tab on the old host? I can't find a tool to manage the licenses. The old host is RHEL 4 running ISE 9.1.03i.

Thanks
