License failure in EDK/XPS due to unsupported device in WebPACK?

Jump to solution

With WebPACK ISE, Project->New Source-Embedded Processor: Spartan 6:

ERROR:EDK - A license was not found for the XPS feature.
Typical causes for this error are either that there is no
license file found or that license files, which were found,
do not contain an unexpired license with the required
feature. The Xilinx License Configuration Manager
(XLCM) will be launched to assist you with
locating or obtaining a license file.

Is this because I can't use EDK/ XPS with a Spartan 6 with the WebPACK license, but only the Zynq Z-70x0 devices?

Separately, xlcm does not run, neither in this instance nor selecting from Help->Manage License: (from command line:) "error while loading shared libraries: libQt_Network.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" (linux)

Yes this is true. Webpack supports xps/edk for Z-7010, Z-7020, and Z-7030 devices alone. If you are using any of the above parts, you can ignore this message. Check this http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/52412.html

Thank you for the information, which clarified that WebPACK EDK/XPS cannot be used for Spartan 6.

Where do I do this? : "If someone's post answers your question, mark the post as answer with "Accept as solution"."
