Node-locked license not found when writing bitstream

Jump to solution

Hello,

I purchased a Genesys 2 dev kit (Kintex-7 XC7325T) which came with a voucher with a node-locked version of Vivado. I generated the license file using my drive serial # and then loaded it in the license manager, but when I try writing a bitstream I get the error message:

[Common 17-69] Command failed: Your license for device 'xc7k325t' is setup for evaluation or trial purposes only. Bitstream creation is disabled for this license. Please run the Vivado License Manager for assistance in determining which features and devices are licensed for your system.

I have tried restarting the software and computer as well as regenerating the .lic file using my ethernet MAC address.

Thanks.

Hey @cceroici,

In the future you can also store certificate licenses in your .Xilinx folder and the license manger will automatically pick it up

Thanks,
Cory

Hi @cceroici

Can you please provide your license as well as Xinfo file. To generate the Xinfo you can run the below command in the Vivado tcl console:

report_enivironment -file <file_path>env.txt

Where <file_path> is the path to the env.txt file.

Looks like license has not been generated for the correct host id.

Regards

Rohit

Hi @cceroici

This message pop ups when you are using 30 days trail license for Vivado and trying to generate bitstream.

Thanks for the replies. I managed to figure it out: After loading the license file I also have to specify the file path in "Manage license Search Paths", which wasn't mentioned in the instructions.
