Opening Old Vivdo IP cores in Vivado new versions

Hi

Is it possible to open the older version of Vivado by newer version
of Vivado without upgrading the IP cores?

This is possible to open a project made with in an older version of vivado in a newer version of vivado without upgrading the IP. You can even generate a bitstream without upgrading the IP. But you won't be able to reconfigure the IPs without upgrading them.

However, Xilinx recommend to use the latest version of the tool and the latest version of the IPs.

Thanks for your answer. Why it is not possible to reconfigure old IP's in new version of Vivado? If the users have a big project they prefer not to upgrade the Vivado version. They must upgrade the IP cores so they should review all project codes. thus some
users never upgrade the Vivado version !!!.
