Problem uninstalling Xilinx Ubuntu 18.04

Jump to solution

Hello,

I've been trying to uninstall using the sudo ./xsetup --uninstall command, and the message that i get is

"setup cannot be ran post install without command line options. Please see help information below on which options can be used with xsetup. If you are running xsetup within the Xilinx's installer and not the post install location, confirm that

".xinstall/idata/.idata.bin"

file exists in your installer.

"

I didn't find the idata directory but i followed all the installation steps and the software was running fine. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi @Yamahata ,

Please go through the below forum discussion and check if it helps:

https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Installation-and-Licensing/Uninstall-Vivado-on-Ubuntu-19-04/td-p/991588

As mentioned in the above forum discussion the command for uninstalling is xuninstall -Uninstall needs to be used instead of xsetup -Uninstall.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Ansari Hunen

Thanks for the reply.

I just removed the directory containing the Xilinx files. I think it solved the issue
