Simulation gets stuck

Jump to solution

Hi

I have an issue with Vivado 2016.2 when I re-run a simulation it hangs. The only way to get it to run is to go into the windows task manager and kill xsimk.exe. When I end the process the simulation runs as normal. So I am able to run simulation but I have to keep killing the xsimk.exe. I have also recently installed Vivado 2017.1. I was hoping that when I used this version the problem would go away but it seems to have inherited the problem. Any idea what might be causing this. (I'm running Win 7 enterprise SP1 and I don't have admin rights)

Regards

Pete

Hi @pcaddick

Is this design specific? Did you try with any example design?

Thanks,Vijay

@vijayak Its not design specific. It does it with all designs.

Hi @pcaddick

Looks to be machine specific. Example designs should run fine.

Do you have an other machine to test? If no, try completely reinstalling Vivado (all versions) and then install.

Thanks,Vijay
