Start Licence manager from Terminal

Jump to solution

Hi there,

Currently i'm trying to start the xilinx licence manager straight from the terminal. I know that you can start the ISE by running the command "ise" within the terminal. Is it also possible to start the licence manager like that? I'm trying to modify the XILINXD_LICENCE_FILE and set a floating licence server. But it looks like this is only possible via the licence manager.

I'm working on a remote server so i have no direct access to the computer.

Any clues?

Hi,

You can set the environment variable XILINXD_LICENSE_FILE without opening the License Manager from the terminal itself.

For example if you are trying to set it in csh/tcsh shell you can set as below.

setenv XILINXD_LICENSE_FILE port@servername

This command vary with the shell you are using.

Please check this below answer record for the commands to be used in different shells.
