Vivado still requires forward slashes in Windows paths

Jump to solution

This has been in Vivado forever. Why cant Vivado detect that you're in a Windows OS and use backslashes instead? Currently, you cannot copy and paste long path names between Vivado and Windows OS withour editing the pasted string. There are nicer ways to waste my time, really.

Hello @pa3bgr,

You can try including the path in {} so that you dont have to change/Edit the complete path.

Example: cd {C:\Webcases\Design_Ent}

--Syed

Probably blame TCL!

The command "file normalize" might work too... it should reliably convert \ to /.

> pwd ; # pwd as reported in the TCL shell
> D:/Xilinx/Vivado/2015.3/scripts > set windows_pwd [ exec pwd ] ; # pwd as reported by windows > D:\Xilinx\Vivado\2015.3\scripts > file normalize $windows_pwd ; # windows pwd converted to TCL style
> D:/Xilinx/Vivado/2015.3/scripts
