xlcm segmentation fault on centos 7

Hi, I have a Centos 7 system which had a working ise 14.7 but somehow the license manager no longer works and crashes with a segmentation fault without any error messages. The system works properly and no other fancy software has been installed apart from standard linux development tools. I had a enviroment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE pointing to a floating license server which crashes xlcm when I click on Manage Licenses. Also tried to point to a local license file with the same result.

Only after copying this local file to .Xilinx ise was starting and able to proceed. The map report shows that the license is old but will continue to function.

Don't like to reinstall my complete linux system. Is there any solution for this or any pointer to what is going on?

library path is: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/lib64:/usr/lib64:/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib" but this the relevant setting of the path is done by the settings64.sh script, so this is not the reason. Is anything known about specific dependencies/libraries?

Re: xlcm segmentation fault on centos 7

Hi Taco,

I have made the following steps to fix this problem:

cd /opt/Xilinx/14.7/ISE_DS/ISE/lib/lin64
mv libstdc++.so libstdc++.so-orig
mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6-orig
mv libstdc++.so.6.0.8 libstdc++.so.6.0.8-orig
ln -s /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so
ln -s libstdc++.so libstdc++.so.6
ln -s libstdc++.so libstdc++.so.6.0.8
cd /opt/Xilinx/14.7/ISE_DS/common/lib/lin64
mv libstdc++.so libstdc++.so-orig
mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6-orig
mv libstdc++.so.6.0.8 libstdc++.so.6.0.8-orig
ln -s /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so
ln -s libstdc++.so libstdc++.so.6
ln -s libstdc++.so libstdc++.so.6.0.8

Are you using KDE?

If yes, run the following command before launching the tools:

unset QT_PLUGIN_PATH

Please, have a look on

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xilinx_ISE_WebPACK#Post-Installation_Fixes_and_Tweaks

for details...

 Best regards,

  Andrei.
