Understanding s_axi_aclk

Jump to solution

Hello, I'm building my block design that includes a PS IP block, some I2C Blocks, SPI Blocks and a DDR4 Controller for the PL Side. I'm looking at how the wires are connected and I have a question about the s_axi_aclk which seems to be an output of my DDR4 controller block. block1.jpg

Now I will zoom in a little.

Do I have things wired incorrectly? Why would the c0_ddr4_ui_clk feed other blocks?

Thank you

Joe

Hi @joe306

This is a clock like another so you can use it. So it is fine to clock all the AXI4-Lite interfaces to this clock

You have probably use the run automation tool and kept the settings. Just note that if you want to use another clock you can also change it in the window which will pop up when you click run automation

Hi @joe306

MIG provides clock and reset that can be used user logic.

ui_clk is user interface - one quarter of the DRAM clock.

ui_clk_sync_rst - active-High user interface reset.

Pratap
