Use HBM and DDR on the VCU128 board

Jump to solution

According to pg150-ultrascale-memory-ip.pdf and pg276-axi-hbm.pdf

The REF CLK of HBM should be primary clock from GCIO in the same SLR.

The SYS CLK of DDR requires same conditions except that it needs differential clock.

According to ug1302-vcu128-eval-bd.pdf, Clock Generation, it says there is only one GCIO in SLR0

DDR4 clock 100 MHz

So, is it possible to use DDR and HBM at the same time? if so, how should I connect the clocks.

Yes, you can use the GCIO for the source clock of both HBM and DDR4 IP. They are in the same SLR.
