Working with the memory DDR3 with the backward compatible frequencies.

Hi I want to know the next:

If I have the part MT41J128M16XX-107 and don´t want to use the max frequency that the MIG let us to configure (almost 900MHz), Instead I want to set a frequency of 800MHZ. Do I just need only change (for the MT41J128M16XX-107 part ) the timing parameters in the "Create Custom Option" writing the timing parameters that has the MT41J128M16XX-125?

thanks

Even simpler. You don't need to create a custom part. Any memory has a physical maximum frequency but will always run at lower clocks (I think there is a ridiculous lower limit as well...), so just need to change your clock, 800 MHz (1250 ps) instead of the default.

Hello @jose09621 ,

The tools automatically generate the correct settings based on the device details (2Gbit x16 DDR3), speed grade of the part (-107), and the target interface rate (800MHz or 1600Mbps).  No user intervention is required in this area.
