Sending data from zedboard to Pc

Hi all,

I succeeded to display sensor data on the LCD screen using VGA and HDMI Zedboard outputs, now I want to send data to my pc using Ethenet outputs.

I have no idea how to do this.

Please any project, tutorial or douments will be helpful

@mkooli Well it is not connected to the internet, correct?

That is normal

What is not normal is the ping not working

Download wireshark and sniff that connection

See if there are any incoming packets or malformed packets out

@mkooli

I assume you are doing baremetal, not Linux.

Check out the LWIP echo example

Or the microzed chronicles

Re: Sending data from zedboard to Pc

Hi @hbucher,

Thanks for your answer,  for this step :

"Assign an IP address to the Ethernet interface on the host computer. The address must be the same subnet as the IP address assigned to the board. The software application assigns a default IP address of 192.168.1.10 to the board. The address can be changed in the respective main.c files. For this setting, assign an IP address to the host in the same subnet mask, for example 192.168.1.100."

I did it but for the local nrtwork i don't know how to set it (see figure below) : 1.JPG

Have you plz a zip project exxample.

Regards.

Re: Sending data from zedboard to Pc

@mkooli IN SDK leave the default 192.168.1.10

On your computer, set

IP: 192.168.1.100

Netmask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google) - it does not really matter as DNS won't be used.

If you are connecting to a router, you should set Gateway to the router's IP. For example my router is 10.0.11.1 and I set IP 10.0.11.50 netmask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 10.0.11.1.

Re: Sending data from zedboard to Pc

Hi @hbucher,

Thanks for your help,

I set the settings as you told me :

2.JPG

And I thnik that there is a connection to an unidentified network :1.JPG

To verify it, I used  Hercules, but as shown below there is no connection between th Zedboard and the PC:

3.JPG

You find attached the folder of my SDK code, this code is used to send sensor data from Zedboard to PC and is well working.

Plz can you verify it and tell me what can be wrong,  (in the code there is a mac Board adress that I dont understand and i want to know if I have to modify it)

Thanks in advance,

Regards.

Re: Sending data from zedboard to Pc

Hi,

All is well working for me right now, the problem was a necessity to disable the unused network card on my PC  ( there are 2 network card on my computer), I think the fact to let both of the activatem might cause a conflict.

Thanks.

Re: Sending data from zedboard to Pc

@mkooli If both have the same network (192.168.1) then it is a problem. In this case just replace with 192.168.2.xxx
