libmetal shared memory virtual address continuity

Hello

I'm using libmetal to share memory between A53 to R5.

A53 running Petalinux and R5 is baremetal.

I'm using libmetal function "metal_io_virt()" from linux to get the virtual address of the beging of the shared memory.

The size of the shared memory is let say 1GB

Can I use this virtual address as a pointer to scan all the shared memory continuously?

e.g a  pseudo code describes such scenario:

char* ptr=metal_io_virt(...);

for (int i=0, ;i<1000000000;++i)

  *(ptr+i) = 0;

Is there page mappings I need to take of ?

Best regards
