Artix-7 PCB design

Hello,

as we want to create PCBs with Artix-7 FPGAs (Nexsys-4-like), I wanted to ask, if there are some PCB samples for Eagle CAD (or similar) in order to save some development time.

Regards,

Tobias

Xilinx provides board files for their AC701 (Artix 7 evaluation board) in Allegro format. They also provide the Gerber files that can be opened with free software.

If you're working with Eagle, you will need to buy an Eagle Premium subscription. Even the "Standard" version only supports four layers, and that's unlikely to be enough for any reasonably complex FPGA board. The AC701 has 16 copper layers.

@tscheipel --Are you asking example PCB design for reference or foot prints?

---If PCB design for reference, then you can find few example Artix-7 device evaluation boards from the following link https://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/device-family/nav-artix-7.html

From that you can find respective board schematic and Board files. Those can be used as an example reference for understanding. But not recommended for copying for  to custom boards as it is.

---If you are looking for Schematic symbols or foot print symbols for our FPGA device, Xilinx do not provide them directly.

The work around is refer http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug475_7Series_Pkg_Pinout.pdf. From that you can find out all device packages pin-out details and mechanical dimensions of packages. By using that you need to create schematic symbols and foot prints.
