Board definition files

Jump to solution

I want to create board definition files for a new board. I got some BDF files for another board not in my vivado install and copied the content into the <Vivado>/data/boards/board_files folder.

Started Vivado, went to create a new project, choose 'board' instead of 'part' and the new added board is there.

Now, I copy-paste that folder and rename it for my board. Open the board.xml file and do basically cosmetic changes (board name, vendor name, description, etc) and change the part number. I alse delete interfaces and components.

Start Vivado again (I know it has to be closed to re-read the board files), start a new project, but my board is not listed...

Why?

It looks like the part number has to have the right syntax and it has to match in both the board and part0_pins files. It's fine now.
