Inserting bit error into GTX transceiver on hardware

Hi,

 

I am transmitting certain random bits and at the receiver end the same bits are compared, this is error free demonstration for both computer simuation and hardware simulation and it works as expected.

 

Now I want to insert bit errors, What I did is after certain period of time I inverted the P and N bits (error insertion) for certain period of time and shifted back to default condition and simulated on computer tool vivado , It works as expected. But the problem I am facing is I can't assign constraints to implement same thing on hardware.

 

How to insert bit errors on hardware GTX's?

 

These are the line of codes I added to the test bench

 

assign temp_txp_out_i=(PB)? txp_out_i:txn_out_i;
assign temp_txn_out_i=(PB)? txn_out_i:txp_out_i;

 

Is there any other way to insert bit errors and test on hardware?

You can try similar function by controlling TXPOLARITY input to GT.

You can try similar function by controlling TXPOLARITY input to GT.
