PCIe jitter attenuator

Is it necessary to use a jitter attenuator chip on the PCI clock? I am using a Kintex 7 part. I see that some boards have them and other dont. I have the schematics for the KC705 and it doesnt use one.

Thanks

@beandigital

If the clock source jitter is with in GT reference clock specifications, no need to have jitter attenuator

You can find the specfications of phase noise for 7 series in below link

http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/44549.html

For UltraScale you can find the details in device datasheet.

Hope this helps

Ok non of the Kintex or Ultrascale boards seem to have jitter attenuators so I presume that they are not needed.
