Power sequencing between MGT and VCCAUX

Hi,

 

Data sheet explains a clear power on sequence for the device (VCCINT,VCCBRAM,VCCAUX,VCCO) and the GT part (VCCINT, VMGTAVCC, VMGTAVTT) but does not specify if VMGTAVCC and VMGTAVTT must  be powered before VCCAUX or there is no constraints.

 

Due to a complicated power supply, I would like to have the following power sequence:

1: VCCINT, VCCBRAM

2: VCCAUX, VMGTTAVCC

3: VMGTAVTT

4: VCCO

 

Is this sequence correct? Can VCCAUX be powered before or at the time than VMGTTAVCC?

Hey Jeff2177,

 

Just want to let you know that Xilinx along with their general documentation also publishes Xilinx articles called answer records that go in detail about some of the requirements, recommendations and guidance called out in those said documentation. They can be searched through our Xilinx support site or even through the main site search bar. For example you could find for this particular topic Xilinx ARs such as these(AR51017AR47817 AR47443) that go in depth detail about the different sequencing for the specific 7-series GTs? In any case to answer your question the general the rule of thumb is to ramp lowest to highest voltage rails but since VCCAUX is a fabric only rail that does not supply any of the GT architecture there is no dependency on this rail for the GTs to work so VCCAUX can be supplied before or after the GT rails. In fact the GTs have their own auxiliary voltage rail MGTVCCAUX if I am not mistaken.
