XADC

I am trying to create a project with XADC Wizard (3.3) for one-shot AD conversion on Diligent Basys3/Nexys4 board.

First I tried to select the Sequencer Mode as “One Pass”, but I couldn’t find an input to start the operation.

Second I select “Event Mode” for Timing Mode, then I get an input “convst” and it looks like a possible trigger for one-shot process. In this case I don’t have those 16 vauxn/vauxp cahnnels and having vn/vp only.  I don’t know how to cofigure daddr[6:0] for vn/vp.

I am a newbie with XADC. Please help.

If you only convert vp/vn then you could set the XADC up in single channel mode and use event mode to start the conversions.

Once you do a convert start wait of the EOC signal to pulse then you can do a read on the vp/vn result register. Set DADDR = 0X3H this will give you the conversion result.

 

You should study ug480 to get a better understanding of what is possible here.

I am using Diligent Basys3/Nexys4 board.  The Pmod for XADC signals are connected to 4 pairs of auxiliary analog inputs.  The dedicated analog inputs have no connection to Pmod.  For xc7a35t-cpg236 on Basys3 board, the vp/vn pins are A12 and B13. For xc7a100t-csg234 on Nexys4 board, the vp/vn pins are J10 and K9.  They have no connection to Pmods on the boards.  How could we apply ADC input signals to the vp/vn?  Is there a board on the market with ready to use ports connected to vp/vn?
