Xilinx Ultrascale+ RSVDGND hookup

Jump to solution

I didn't see anything in the literature that says what to hook the RSVDGND pin to.  Do I just tie it to signal GND or should I leave it floating?  I am not sure why it is labeled differently from all the other GND pins.

To provide a bit more context, take the ZU7EV vs ZU7EG as example - the former has the video codec tested/enabled - the latter doesn't.
If you diff the package files

from

You'll see there's a difference:

If you only are ever going to use one, then handle it appropriately (e.g. GND for ZU7EG/ZU7CG) - but if you want to be able to use either - you'd better have a way to accommodate the build variations on your PCB design depending on which one you actually populate.

It is different than GND potentially (no pun intended).

Did you see this?

It is also described in the xtp427 schematic checklist I mentioned in your other thread.
