Incorrect results when simulating xapp524

Hi,

I am trying to simulate xapp524 and have run into issues. I am simulating without any modifications made to the xapp. Here is the vivado project:

Here is the output waveform:

Why are there U's in the Sim_data input? What is a correct waveform supposed to look like? I get the same results when I try the provided scripts in modelsim. If someone has a correct vivado project they could share, I'd like to see the differences. 

The simulation seems to run forever, it does not change or terminate like I'd expect it would based on the AdcTopLevel_checker code
