Question on Windows Device Drivers for PCIe-based Reference Design for 7 series FPGAs

Hello:

This is Navneet Rao. I manage the Base & Connectivity Platforms at  Xilinx.

We are putting together a PCIe-based Reference Design for 7 series FPGAs.

Question: What is the importance of ready-to-use Windows device drivers for your application, in addition to Linux Device Drivers?

Answer choices:

A. Yes, I absolutely need it and Windows 64-bit support too, and can start developing my device drivers using the Xilinx starting point.

B. Yes, I absolutely need Windows Device Drivers and Windows 32-bit support is enough for my application development.

C. No, dont need Windows device drivers. Linux device drivers (and 64-bit) support is enough.

(Pl. reply back to Navneet.Rao@xilinx.com or this forum with your answer choice)

This reference design will be similar to the Virtex-6 & Spartan-6 Conn. Targeted Reference Design (TRD)(http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards/v6conn/reference_designs.htm) The TRD includes fully working RTL design, Software Device Drivers (Linux & Windows) and a Performance monitor application. These deliverables jump-start your application deveiopment.

Thanks

VERY Important.  If I had my choice between only Windows drivers and only Linux drivers I would without question take Windows.  Much more of my base requests Windows support.
