Questions about PCIE RC example

Jump to solution

Hi,

I'm following ZCU106 RC example ( AR# 72076 , https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/72076.html)

And when I connected PCIe switch card through FMC using HTG-FMC-PCIE, link-up led is not on, lspci is not showing up anything. (heart-beat led is working)

I'm using Vivado 2019.1, petalinux 2019.1, ZCU106

here is my questions

1) how to debug what is wrong?

I find Jtag don't work when using FMC and I have no idea why pcie rc not work

2) Do I need to add module(device driver) recipe for pci ?

I cannot find "drivers/pci/host/pcie-xdma-pl.c" in my petlainux kernel

Is it necessary to add this file as module?

https://github.com/Xilinx/linux-xlnx/blob/master/drivers/pci/controller/pcie-xdma-pl.c

thank you

I found what I wrong,

In Kernel configuration, there are two PCIe root port support options

1) XDMA PL PCIe host bridge support

2) PL PCIe axi bridge support

I selected 2) becuase IP is used as axi bridge but you must select 1). PCIe axi bridge IP is deprecated vivado 2018

And then when booting linux, kernel hang with messages "rsched_detected ~~~"

In that case, Connect PCIe endpoint device. it works for me
