simulate question!

Hi everyone:

When I  use the Modelsim 6.4 simulate the file "simulate_mti.do",

I encounter the following presentation:

# [ 169818 ns ] : Test Passed. Completion Data = 0x04030201
# ** Failure: Simulation Stopped.
#    Time: 176218 ns  Iteration: 4  Process: /board/dsport_inst/tx_app/tests_inst/tx_stimuli File: ../tests/tests.vhd
# Break in Subprogram finish at ../dsport/test_interface.vhd line 1043
# Simulation Breakpoint: Break in Subprogram finish at ../dsport/test_interface.vhd line 1043
# MACRO ./simulate_mti.do PAUSED at line 9

What does it mean?

Re: simulate question!

I believe the simulation designer used the ,severity level message "failure", as a simulation control variable. When this variable is used modelsim will issue a simulation break.

Believe it or not this is a successful completion of the simulation. You should also get a "query box" asking if you want to quit. Answer no if you want to view waveforms or any other information about the simulation.

Answering yes will cause modelsim to close.

If you look at line 1029 of test_interface.vhd you will see that this is the end of a successful simulation.

Hope this helps.

George
