PICOBLAZE VIVADO

I just installed vivado and now none of my system generator designs work because vivado does not have a Picoblaze block.

From AR#47634:

What is the list of blocks removed from System Generator for Vivado design tools?

Yes, picoblaze block was removed from SYSGEN. What is your question?

My question is WHY. Shouldn't new software be better?  Without a picoblaze it's worthless to me.  Is there a work around that I don't know about?

Surely you can instantiate PicoBlaze manually, like every who doesn't use SYSGEN (whatever that is). really, it's not hard.

----------------------------Yes, I do this for a living.

I am not a current user of System Generator but I can appreciate from my past the reason for having a native KCPSM6 token and simulation model in this environment. On your behalf I contacted the System Generator Marketing folks within Xilinx and I understand that engineering have been working on such a token. However, at this time they only want to release it on a case by case basis and have therefore requested that you (or anyone else needing a KCPSM6 token) open a webcase.

Sorry I cannot be of more help myself but they assure me that you will receive some files and instructions so that your System Generator designs can be used with Vivado.

As Ken pointed out we are evaluating demand and then we are looking for the most scalable way of delivering PicoBlaze System Generator support in line with how customers get it today as a reference design. Once we understand overall demand we will decide next steps.

As Ken highlighted to further move forward with your PicoBlaze support in System Generator with Vivado please file a webcase so we can work with you on next steps.

Thanks,
