Can Zynq series be used as general FPGA?

Hi all,I want to do an experiment like this:

I don't use the PS in Zynq, just use the PL part to control the LED(on or off ) , can this be OK?

When the .bit file generated, i use the IMPACT and could scan the JTAG chain,

but can't download the .bit file to the PL part, why?

Could anyone help me? thanks .

yes you can use Zynq series as general purpose FPGA.

PS and PL can be used separately...

may be you are not following the right way......

thanks, I install the Digilent_Plug-in software, and now i can use IMPACT to download the bit file to  Zynq,
