Clocks to PL not enabled in SDK Debug

Hi all,
I do not know if this is intentional, but here it is:

In SDK 2014.4 , if you right click on application project --> Debug As --> Launch on Hardware (GDB).  The ELF file will be downloaded onto Zynq and is ready to run in debug mode.  HOWEVER, the PL side clock is not running.  I notice this because Vivado Hardware Manager complains cannot detect my ILA core because no clock.

To get the clock running, you have to: Right click on application project --> Debug Configurations --> Xilinx C/C++ application (GDB) --> New --> Debug.

From the log file, the difference between the 2 is that ps7_post_config.tcl is ran if you chose the --> New Debug Configuration path.  This is also the steps suggested by Vivado Embedded Design Debugging tutorial.  However, I still feel this is a bug as the other step had worked in 2014.2.

Regards,

Neo

Can you post the logs of the both the procedures?

Also, can you check if you encounter this issue with 'system debugger'?

Hi,

My bad.  I cannot reproduce the no clock behaviour.

I can see that ps7_post_config is ran even when I start with a fresh project and ran Debug as --> Launch on Hardware (GDB) right after building.

  My apologies for causing confusion.
