HW ICAP IP for SP601 with microblaze

Hi,

I'm interested in making a multiboot application on SP601 using Microblaze.  But I cannot find the HWICAP IP in  XPS_11.4.

Should it be in the IP list or not?

If it's not in the list (yet) ....  what would be the best way for multibooting with microblaze?

I would like to make a aplication where I can say :  "And now you wil reboot with that bit file" ...  no partial reconfiguration.

All will happen with the SPI flash.

Thx,

 Serge

hi,

HWICAP from EDK is only available for virtex 4 and virtex 5 families.

I do not know why xilinx does not release a hwicap for spartan 6 families, because Spartan 6 has a ICAP resource

regards

Hi,

you could build your own USER IP and instantiate the ICAP primitive in HDL code.

There is a document "MultiBoot Control (Using ICAP in an XC3S700A)", a reference Design for the Spartan-3A Starter Kit that could be a good help even if it is based on PicoBlaze.

Richard

Hi,

A very late reply of me (just noticed the new ...) ...

Thanks for your help.  That is actualy what I did.   I took some demo code of the SP601 multiboot (vhdl) and mixed it with a custom IP core in XPS.  After some tuning and help it worked as I wished.

grtz,

Serge
