LPDDR4 with Zu2EG with ecc

Hello,

 

I have been cruising through UG1075,UG583, UG571 documentations and I just wanted to make sure that a 32 bit LPDDR4 system with ECC is a possible solution with 2 LPDDR4 devices with single die connected to the PS side of the Ultrascale+ MPSoC. Is there a reference design available? I intend on using the Zu2EG.

Hello @vanlandingham10,

 

At this point we don't have any Zynq based Evaluation Kits with LPDDR4 but other suppliers may have them.  As far as reliability over temperature the system is guaranteed to operate to spec, and the specific spec range depends on the type of FPGA part and components you buy,  when it follows our design guidelines.  We also have our long term reliability reports published regularly in UG116.

UG1075 in Table 2-3 LPDDR4 Supported Pinout Configurations starting on page 79 gives two examples on how to connect a 32-bit data payload with 8-bit ECC on LPDDR4:

The actual table is much longer than this so please download UG1075 and take a look.  It gives you a pin-by-pin breakdown of how to connect the PS memory interface pins to the LPDDR4 for an ECC configuration.  The second column in this table is exactly the configuration you're looking for.

 

Also UG583 in the PCB Guidelines for LPDDR4 Memories with ECC (PS) section starting on page 97 provides more specific details on how to do this.

So no reference design ? would really like to understand the reliability concerns over temperature.
