Microblaze without EDK

Hello everyone!

I have an Avnet Spartan-3A evaluation kit and I would like to work with Microblaze. The thing is that EDK isn't a free tool.

Could somebody give me a solution to work with Microblaze without using EDK tool?

Thanks.

Regards,

Rick

Re: Microblaze without EDK

As far as I know, there is no such solution. EDK builds not only the processor but all the involved architecture needed to work with it, namely memory and buses such as the PLB (Processor Local Bus). You can use the trial versions, at least 10.1 allows you to test during two months.

Best,
JM

Re: Microblaze without EDK

Hi Rick,

there are already free MB clones available on opencores.

aeMB and openFire can be programmed with the Microblaze gcc toolchain.

Just take a look if they suit your purposes.

Have a nice synthesis
