NPI vs VFBC interface. 95.2%

Hello,

Somewhere I read that the NPI interface has the best performance. According with the documentation the VFBC throughput is the 95.2% of the NPI.

If, I'm working with video. When I must use VFBC and when I must use NPI, how to decide?

About resources, which one is better? ( I suppose the VFBC was optimized by the guru's of Xilinx).

Someone can give an insight about this, please.

Thanks.

Regards,

DABG

NPI is always faster since all MPMC PIMS connect through NPI.

However, VFBC is able to queue up enough data to keep NPI utilized. So use VFBC if you need an asynchronous FIFO and/or need to perform innerframe modifications.  Otherwise, your application is likely simple enough to just use NPI.
