Timer/Counter Core

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm planning to use a Timer/Counter core provided in EDK, in order to know how much time does my C code need to be executed.

first: I would like to know if the idea is correct

second: where can I find the Timer Core driver

Thank you

Yes, I this has been done before using the XPS_TIMER.

Example

http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/EDK-and-Platform-Studio/Using-The-Timer-counter-peripheral/m-p/42429

http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Processing/XPS-Timer/m-p/46649

You can search the forums for example TIMER and get many posts.

As far as driver goes.  The Driver is brought into your design when you create the software project

and the project creates the board support packages and libraries automatically.
