Zynq Boards

Hello,

Can I use the FPGA part of the zynq board without using the processor (ARM).

So there is no need to the AXI interface in this case , is it?

Hey mariem_@fsm.12-34,

 

If you do not use the Processing System (PS, ARM) and only work with the Programmable Logic (PL, FPGA) then you do not need to use the AXI bus at all (but you can, if you like to :).

 

Note that if you want a Zynq without PS, you can simply use an Artix or Kintex instead.

No, not really. However, with more and more Xilinx IP you have an AXI Interface. This is the way we are going.

But if your IP or design doesn't require an AXI interface then you don't have ti have one.
