linux prompt is missing

Jump to solution

Hello,

In bring up of new board, I see messages from rcS, but afterwards there is no more printing.

And there is no linux prompt.

I can press enter and see new lines, but no linux prompt

The changes from other runnning board is using uart1, instead of uart0, but I made the relevant changes for that I suppose (only console argument in linux)

Thanks for any idea.

Ran

Hi,

Yes. We now have more understanding, In previous board the HW engineer wired UART1 as debug, but now it was changed to UART0.

I see in zynq_<>.h in config that both UART0 & UART1 are used:

#define CONFIG_ZYNQ_SERIAL_UART1
#define CONFIG_ZYNQ_SERIAL_UART0

Do we just need comment out CONFIG_ZYNQ_SERIAL_UART1  ?

// #define CONFIG_ZYNQ_SERIAL_UART1
#define CONFIG_ZYNQ_SERIAL_UART0

Regards,

Ran

Hi Ransh,

You can control by disabling UART 1 from hardware design i.e. from PS IO peripehral configuration.

This means just keep UART 0 in your design.
