zynq with wireless cc3100 module

Hello,

I designed a system that collects information from some sensors and it is connected to the zynq 7000. Now, I need to send the information processed trough wireless connection. To do this task, I want to use an TI module CC3100, that need to connect to my zynq via SPI, and configure the cc3100 properly.

Anyone have some example to do this? or some tips that I need to do in order to use the SPI driver?

Thank you in advance.

Basically you have several options here:

  • Use one of the SPI controllers available on the ZYNQ (PS peripherial)
  • Directly access the CC3100 from the FPGA fabric (PL side)
  • Add one of the AXI SPI Cores and use that to access the module.

For general SPI access, there is a userspace driver in the Linux kernel (spidev) which can be used.

There also seems to be a specific CC3100 driver available (at least on RPi) which might be useful.

Hope this helps,

Herbert
