ARM A53 CPU clock speed for ZCU102

Jump to solution

I am using the ZCU102 evaluation board (device XCZU9EG).

I see in document ds925 table 3 shows different possible speed grades.

Is there a way to determine from u-boot what the ARM A53 clock speed is?

thx,

bob

Here is the boot console output:

Hello @holder,

The clock speed of the ARM A53 should be set in the PS when you setup your Vivado project.  The table in DS925 refers to the physical specification of different parts.  On DS891 (https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/data_sheets/ds891-zynq-ultrascale-plus-overview.pdf) page 40, there is a table which references which speed grade the ZU9EG is at (I am assuming your device is an Extended part so has speed grade -1E).

To your question about seeing the clock speed in u-boot from your PS configuration, I am unsure what the application would be that would require that functionality.  Could you elaborate on what this would be used for?

If you need to see the clock speed, but can wait until Linux is booted up, this AR (https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/51190.html) should help.

Thanks,

Caleb Davidson

In Linux can can read CPU0 frequency by
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
if you wan to do cpu freq scaling, please refer to the wiki page
