High impedance with UART 16550

Jump to solution

Hi everybody,

I'm working with XPS UART 16550 in a Microblaze processor system. I want that Dtx pin (data transmission) is in high impedance  state (Z) when there is nothing to transmit. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance!

No, High-Z states are typically with tri-state signals and the uart16550 signals are single-ended.

Thanks centaur19!

I will try to solve it with external hardware.
