Shared SATA drive between R5 and A53

Hello,

I have an application where a safety critical RTOS is running on the R5s with petalinux on the A53s.  Both applications need access to a shared SATA drive.  In the R5's case the data is read and consumed locally, in the A53's case its both local and also shared via NFS to other systems so read/write performance is important.  Is there a way to guarantee access to the SATA drive when the safety critical task on the R5 requests it, and have the SATA controller issue some sort of abort interrupt to the linux application such that it can then retry accessing the SATA disk once the R5 application has completed its transaction?

Thanks!
