SDaccel install problem

Hi there,

I'm new to CentOS linux and tried to install SDaccel in CentOS6.8 64bit

Following the steps in this manual for SDAccel 2016.3 version

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2016_3/ug1238-sdx-rnil.pdf

After the installation is done, I set up Up the Environment to Run SDx using command:

source   /home/SDx/2016.3/settings64.sh

OK. no errors..

source /home/SDx/2016.3/settings64.csh
Some errors:
[www@localhost 2016.3]$ source /home/SDx/2016.3/settings64.csh
bash: /home/SDx/2016.3/SDK/.settings64-Software_Development_Kit.csh: line 7: syntax error near unexpected token `else'

bash: /home/SDx/2016.3/Vivado/.settings64-Vivado.csh: line 8: `else'

Tried to launch the SDAccel GUI using the command:

 [prompt]# sdaccel

Please help out.

Re: SDaccel install problem

Launch SDaccel by

[prompt]# sdx

Still confused between SDx and SDAccel. Are they the same?

Re: SDaccel install problem

Hi @sl_cgi,

SDAccel is the Xilinx OpenCL programming environment within SDx. It targets PCIe based platforms.

It's counterpart is the SDSoC environment (also part of SDx) which targets embedded platforms i.e those with Zynq SoC/MPSoC.

The SDAccel or SDSoC environment you use will depend upon the platform you select for your project when you create it.

If you use the command line to compile (or Makefile flow) there are different compilers for both SDAccel and SDSoC.

SDAccel uses xocc (the Xilinx OpenCL Compiler) and SDSoC uses the sdscc (C) or sds++ (C++) compilers.

Search the SDAccel user guides to learn more about how it all works.

Hopefully this helps.

Re: SDaccel install problem

You only need to source settings64.csh OR settings64.sh depending on your shell. NOT BOTH. It looks like you're using BASH, so only need to source settings64.sh.

The command line to start the GUI in 2016.3 is "sdx".
