OBUFDS_GTE4 on ZCU102

Hi all,

 

I want to instantiate an OBUFDS_GTE4 to use the clock output RXRECCLOCKOUT out of a CPRI slave core. This clock will feed the Si5328 jitter cleaner. The utility buffer doesn't offer that option so I tried to create a custom IP but altogether, Vivado doesn't let me plug the output of the OBUFDS_GTE4 to the SFP_REC_CLK pins on ZCU102 (pins R10-R9). 

 

Do I need special constraint or configuration during my custom IP generation? Anyone tried to do this before?

you can connect in this way:

RXOUTCLK --> BUFG_GT --> ODDR --> OBUFDS --> output pins.

RXOUTCLK can be set to RXOUTCLKPMA.

In this way, fabric is used to route the recover clock. Dedicated routing is not used.

OBUFDS_GTE4 must use dedicated pinout. just like IBUFD_GTE4.

 

The dedicated GT reference clock inputs can be configured to input mode (IBUFD_GTE4) or output mode (OBUFDS_GTE4)

Thanks for your quick reply! Indeed I seem to have access to the dedicated pins. Sadly, on the ZCU102, the SFP ports are on bank 230, so I can't output the RXRECCLK on any SMA connector (I would like to probe the clock), since they are in other clock regions (I get DRC violations).  So basically; on the ZCU102, I can't use RXRECCLK for my ref clock, I need to use the RECCLK output (which can be routed with a simple OBUFDS). Am I understanding this correctly?
