Simple Link from Zynq to Artix

Jump to solution

Hello, I'm looking to design a little daughter card that will connected to a board with a Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSOC. The daughter card will have an Artix 7 FPGA and will interface with a Video Camera with an CameraLink interface. I need the Artix FPGA to create the video stream and pass it to the base board Zynq FPGA. I was looking for a simple way to pass the data from FPGA to FPGA using a simple transceiver IP. Can anyone recommend a simple transceiver IP to use? Could I use the Aurora 8B/10B IP? Does the Aurora need an ARM? I'm not locked into the Artix, I could upgrade to a small Zynq.

Another option would be to DMA the video frame over an LVDS pair and not a transceiver pair.

Any suggestions?

Aurora is recommended, which does not require arm.

If you are familiar with GTX, you can use the bare GTX core and customize the transport protocol.
